Is a four season sunroom the right room for your house?
A four season sunroom is a fully closed-in room with all-weather windows that you heat and cool like the rest of your house. In Temescal Valley, that turns a patio you avoid in August into a room you'll use every month of the year.
Most folks who call me have a bare patio, an old deck or a tired cover, and they want a room they'll actually sit in, not one more space they use a few months a year. The price mostly moves with three things: how big the room is, whether it needs a new foundation, and what heating and cooling goes in it. A large room on a new foundation with heat and air sits at the top of what these rooms cost around here. The schedule mostly turns on how fast we settle the plan and on the county's permit review, and after I've been out you get a written price in plain words.
How we build a four season sunroom
With a room you'll heat and cool, the first big question is whether it opens into the house or stays closed off with its own system, so I walk you through both ways before anything else gets decided. Then I check what the room will sit on and how it ties into your house wall. We plan the insulation for the walls, floor and roof along with the windows, because those are much easier to put in while the room is going up and often cost more to add later. We pick windows made for a room you're going to live in, our crew frames and closes the room in, and the heating and cooling goes in with the rest of the build so it isn't an afterthought.
Not every patio needs heat and air, and I'll tell you so. If you mostly want spring and fall evenings out of the wind, three season sunrooms usually cost less and still get you outside. If you just want the patio walled in against dust and bugs, patio enclosures are a lighter job.
Four season sunroom permits in Temescal Valley
Temescal Valley doesn't have its own city government. Riverside County lists it among its unincorporated communities, so your permit comes from the county's land management agency, not a city hall. The county's permit list names room additions and patios but doesn't name sunrooms. That means the list alone doesn't settle whether your room needs a permit, and we check with the county for your address before we plan around it. When the work needs a permit, we put together the plans and paperwork, file with the county building office and are there for the inspections.
Most rooms we build here go on the back of a stucco tract home over an existing slab. That slab is the first thing I look at, since a closed-in room asks more of what it sits on than an open patio cover does. We see the same kind of houses on jobs in Corona and Lake Elsinore.

What happens after you call about a four season sunroom
Call or send a request
Call (951) 336-8162 or use the request form, and we'll get back to you to set up a visit. Tell us whether the room would go on a patio, a deck or an old cover, so I know what I'm walking into.
I come out and measure
I measure the space, look at what the room will sit on and how it meets the house, and ask plenty of questions about how you'll use it. That's when we talk through opening it to the house or giving it its own heating and cooling.
You get a written estimate
You get the price for the room we talked through, written in plain words, so you know exactly what you're buying before you sign anything. Nothing moves until you say go.
We permit, build and walk it
Once you say go, we handle the permit paperwork with the county and our own crew builds the room. When it's done, we walk the finished room with you.
Why Temescal Valley homeowners call Temescal Valley Sunrooms & Patios for a four season room
We talk the room through first
We're best known for taking the time to talk a room through with you before it gets a price, because I've met too many folks who were sold a room that didn't fit how they live. I'd rather talk you into a smaller job than sell you the wrong one.
I measure and run every job
I come out and do the measuring myself, and our own crew does the building with me running the job on site. We bring in licensed trades for the electrical and the heating and cooling, so each part is done by people licensed for that work.
Licensed and fully insured in California
The state licensing board requires a current, valid license from anyone who contracts for work that needs a building permit, or for work worth $1,000 or more in labor and materials combined, and a four season room is well past that line. We're licensed and fully insured, and it's worth asking anyone you call the same question.
Based in Temescal Valley since 2023
I learned this trade building patio covers and enclosures when I was young, came back to it after years in other work, and started this business here in 2023. We work across this part of Riverside County, from Corona and Norco down through Lake Elsinore, Menifee and Murrieta, plus plenty of the cities around them.
Satisfaction guaranteed on every job. Send us a request or call (951) 336-8162, and I'll come take a look at your space.

Questions about four season sunrooms in Temescal Valley
What makes a sunroom four-season rather than three-season?
A four-season sunroom is heated and cooled and has all-weather windows. Three-season rooms, enclosed porches and enclosed patios generally aren't heated or cooled, and they use uninsulated windows or screens. If you want heat and air in the new room, you need the four-season kind, and a three-season room suits a space you'll use without them.
How much does a four season sunroom cost in the Riverside area?
A sunroom in the Riverside area usually costs about $17,000 to $120,000 per project. That's what the market charges across all kinds of sunrooms, not our price. A four-season room with a new foundation and heating and cooling tends to land toward the top of that range, and the written estimate after my visit gives you your own number.
Should my sunroom open to the house or stay separate?
Open it to the house if you want it to be part of your living space. Keep it separate with its own heating and cooling if you'd rather close it off. A national sunroom industry specification calls a heated or cooled room that's open to the house habitable, and one that's closed off from the house with its own temperature control non-habitable, so it's a choice to make before the plan is drawn.
How do I apply for a building permit in Temescal Valley?
Riverside County takes all types of permit applications through its PLUS Online portal, and that's where Temescal Valley owners and their contractors file. When we're building your room and it needs a permit, that filing is part of our job.
What windows should a four season sunroom have?
It should have windows built to keep out air and water and to handle heat well. A national sunroom specification calls for that in any heated or cooled sunroom, and it's fair to ask a contractor how their windows meet those requirements. I'm glad to go over ours at the estimate.
Can I turn my covered patio into a four season sunroom?
Usually yes, but I only know whether your slab and cover can carry a closed-in room once I've looked at them. Sometimes the slab works as it is, and sometimes the room needs its own foundation, which is one of the bigger things that moves the price.
Other rooms worth a look
Three season sunrooms
If you'll mostly use the room in mild weather and don't need heat or air, a three-season room gets you most of the way.
Patio enclosures
When the goal is keeping dust, bugs and wind off the patio, not living out there year-round, an enclosure is the simpler build.
